Day 1

Today we set up the labels, randomized our pots on the tray mixed the potting soil, and planted our seeds.

Here is a list of all the plants that students across South Florida will be experimenting and testing over the next couple weeks. Fairchild randomly distributed the different seeds and these are the ones that our school was assigned.

Our plants are:

1)Red Romaine Lettuce

2) Lemon Balm

3) Purple Magic Pak Choi

4) Petite Snap-Green Peas

Today we also began setting up our Lab Notebook to track the progress of our plants throughout the next 4 weeks of this first trial.

Over the next week we will be researching these plants to find out more about them, their optimal conditions, and how long they take to grow. We will be using this data table to track the development of our plants:

We will be taking 1 picture of our plants every day to capture their growth. We are so excited for this journey.
