Calling all middle school students interested in participating in authentic research for NASA through Fairchild Botanic Tropical Gardens. Since 2015, middle school students across the state of Florida (including Gulliver)have participated in the NASA-Partnered Growing Beyond Earth (GBE) project, and have collected valuable data such as germination rates, growth habits and edible biomass production for over 110 varieties of edible plants. Results of these student-led experiments helped NASA scientists to select two of the four new varieties of edible plants.
Upon Completion of the 50-day trial, students will analyze their data and create a research poster showing their results. Students will even have the opportunity (optional) to attend the Growing Beyond Earth Research Symposium and share their findings with NASA scientists.
