Launch Update

Launch Recap. Thursday around 10:40 am, my students and I logged into the launch to get set up for our VIEWING PARTY. It was an INTENSE day as stated by the students who were on pins and needles watching throughout the launch.

The high altitude weather balloon Launched from Delphi, Indiana. Here is a video of the moments before the payload was released:

Throughout the mission, we were able to track the ALTITUDE, TEMPERATURE, HUMIDITY, SPEED, VERTICAL RATE, PRESSURE, HEADING, SPIN RATE, and TURBULENCE. This link contains the data from our launch: https://tracking.stratostar.net/#!/missions/5e95c45544bee300130ee2e9

Our launch reached 92,283 ft of elevation: We are waiting for the GoPro footage to be sent over in the next few days. This morning our experiments were shipped back to us. Next week we will look over the data and create our report. It landed a few miles from the predicted landing site! Here is a video of the retrieval of the payload when it landed: https://twitter.com/i/status/1258475685808668672

If you were able to track along, thank you for joining us on this special day. Have a great weekend & Happy Mother’s Day to all Moms!! Ms. Valeria
